As a true believer in the virtues of User-Centred Design, I strive to make a positive impact on people and society, believe in the power of collaboration, and see the opportunities that can be earned from every failed idea.
I believe in the necessity of continuous research throughout the lifecycle of a project. I design, facilitate and analyse user research that looks beyond the obvious, and asks questions that get to the heart of users needs.
METHODS: Discussion Guides / One-on-one Interviews / Contextual Enquiry / Affinity and Concept Mapping / Task Analysis / Local and Remote Usability Testing / Competitor Analysis / Card Sorting
User research is worth little, if it is not translated into tools that help us gain a better understanding of our users. Using a set of practised methods, I distill the insights from research into the tools that improve our understanding of our users.
METHODS: Empathy Maps / Personas / Scenarios / User Stories / Experience and Journey Maps / Storyboards / Site Maps / User Flows
To effectively design for users it’s important to remove all assumptions that are present from the moment you read a brief. Using methods of lean and rapid prototyping, I endeavour to get through each iteration as fast as possible, so myself and the team can learn and evolve our ideas.
METHODS: Design Studio Workshops / Sketching and Rapid Prototyping / Wireframes / HTML5 & CSS3 / Local and Remote Usability Testing
Effectively communicating your design decisions is critical to getting stakeholders on your side, and that all boils down to the story that you tell. As a visual communicator I believe in the value of a well presented idea, and I’m comfortable translating anything from sketched designs and up, into high fidelity usable interfaces that are well documented and ready for any development team.
